Vaccinations
QTHC has a full panel of immunizations against all vaccine preventable illnesses.
The pre-travel consultation is a good opportunity to make sure travelers are up-to-date on their routine vaccines as well as determining recommended or required travel-related vaccines. Clinicians will reference age appropriate immunization schedules for routinely recommended vaccines (regardless of travel) such as Diphtheria, Tetanus, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Polio, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Influenza, etc.
Depending on many factors including destination, several common vaccines considered for travelers include:
- Typhoid Fever
- Meningococcal
- Rabies
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Japanese Encephalitis
- Polio (Adult Booster)
Some countries require travelers to carry proof of vaccination or an International Certificate of Vaccination of Prophylaxis (ICVP) to enter the country. Requirements do change regards Yellow Fever vaccine (country-specific) and Meningococcal vaccine for pilgrims entering Saudi Arabia for Hajj.
